NSK Nakanishi Planet Series High-Speed Air Jig Grinding Spindles

Production of these Planet or PL series spindles has been discontinued as of June 2010.

The NSK PL Planet series are small, compact spindles that can transform a standard milling machine, etc. into a jig grinder by simply attaching a boring head along with the appropriate PL series spindle. On a lathe, these grinding heads can be used as a precision internal grinder. Special high-speed ball bearings withstand long continuous hours of operation. These spindles exhibit excellent performance for a relatively low cost. Available in four models, each with a particular top end speed rating.

CAUTION - The Planet series spindles are designed to operate smoothly at high speeds for long hours of continuous grinding when coupled with an appropriately adjusted air line kit (filter/regulator/micro-mist oiler). We highly recommend using the manufacturer's air line kit, as this item includes a special micro-mist (atomizing) lubricator not usually found on most commercially available air line kits. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended spindle lube oil – Chevron Superla 9.
