These files are part of the Premium range of Glardon® products. They are particularly recommended for professionals who want to achieve an excellent quality of work. Our files are currently used in a number of areas, by precision engineers, mold makers and jewelers.
A precision file is characterized by:
- Its profile: we offer a broad selection of different profiles depending on your requirements: hand, pillar, round edge, equaling, crochet, warding, halfround, round, oval, three square, square, slotting, barrette, pippin, knife, screwhead, multifile and crossing, etc.
- Its length: this is measured in inches and does not include the tang.
-
Its cut: the cut of Glardon® precision files is designed by means of a scale of cuts ranging from 000 which is the coarsest, up to 8 which is the finest. Each of these cuts equates to a certain number of teeth per square centimeter.
The Vallorbe® precision files cover a wide range of applications including: beveling, chamfering, cleaning and filing welds, deburring, filing, fitting, hewing, and machining.
A Pillar Checkering file is a specialty double-cut file useful for putting serrations on knife edges and to obtain a checkered design similar to a gun grip. Overcut is parallel to the file edges and upcut is 90° to the overcut with safe edges. Like other Pillar files, they are parallel in width and tapered in thickness. Length, unless otherwise stated, is length of cut and does not include tang.
File dimensions: 6" long x 1/2" wide x 11/64" thick.
