Three square files are triangular in cross section, and are double-cut with very sharp corners that are slightly set and cut. These files are for general use by machinists for filing internal corners and filing taps and cutters. grading of cuts according to coarseness is same as square file.
The file length is measured without the tang (handle).
Bastard is coarse, Second is medium, and Smooth Cut is fine.
